Career
Speech Language Pathology
Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) are experts in communication, who help to assess, prevent and correct language, communication and swallowing disorders in patients. SLPs communicate, educate and prepare family members and/or caretakers of patients to provide additional care and attention for the patient in other environments.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapists offer services along a continuum of promotion, prevention, and interventions and serve individual students, groups of students, whole classrooms, and whole school initiatives. OTs focus on each student’s strengths by designing and implementing meaningful interventions to increase inclusion and accessibility.
Physical Therapy
Physical Therapists are highly trained professionals who use up to date, evidence-based treatment techniques to provide the best possible services. Physical Therapists develop individualized plans for every child to cultivate the development of improved physical ability, ranging from improving specific mobility functions to general motor skills.
School Nursing Services
School Nurses are professional nurses who specialize in creating a safe environment for students in schools, allowing them to achieve academic success and intervene when potential health issues arise. School Nurses collaborate with school staff to help create individualized education plans that work, while also monitoring and promoting both mental and physical well-being while at school.
School Psychological Services
Psychologists help children with emotional, social, behavioral, and academic challenges. Excellent communication skills are needed to interact with students, parents, and educators daily in order to create a healthy learning environment that focuses on the specific needs of each child.
Special Education Teachers
Special Education Teachers can motivate students and inspire the confidence needed for everyday skills and tasks. Understanding the needs of each child on a one-on-one basis is very important.
