School Nurses are professional nurses who specialize in creating a safe environment for students in schools, allowing them to achieve
academic success and intervene when potential health issues arise. School Nurses collaborate with school staff to help create individualized education plans that
work, while also monitoring and promoting both mental and physical well-being while at school.
School Nurses treat everything from scrapes and bruises to
chronic conditions. School Nurse will be responsible for caring for students who get sick or injured during school hours, taking vital signs, recording symptoms,
and administering basic medical aid. they will also be responsible for educating students on health and growth development.
School Nurses will identify
the health needs of students through appraisal, health histories, screening programs, observations, and conferences with parents, health providers, and school
staff. Strong communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues are essential. It is also important that you are a trusted, caring, and ethical
individual, because you will serve as the primary health consultant and provide the direct care necessary to support student health needs in the school
setting.
